Shake Shack Surge Filter Protection Testimonial

We were experiencing recurring issues with power surges at several of our Shake Shack locations, which were frequently taking out our HVAC systems, POS equipment, and lighting. These disruptions were not only frustrating but also costly.  Based on previous interaction / success with SAVE Electronics at P.F. Chang’s I reached out to Tim Boyd at SAVE Electronics for assistance.

Tim and his team looked at our issues and designed a tailored Surge Filter Protection system specifically for our needs. He took the time to explain that approximately 80% of power surges and transient spikes originate from within the building—not from external sources like lightning or utility power issues, which only account for about 20%.

He also made it clear that simply installing surge protection at the main power feed wouldn’t be enough to solve the problem. Instead, we needed to target the electrical panels that supply power to our critical systems. Following his recommendation, we installed the Surge Filter Protection units on these key panels.

Since implementing SAVE Electronics’ solution, we have seen no issues as expected. As a bonus, by installing protection on our lighting control panels, we’ve extended the life of our lighting approximately 3-4 times.
