What is 4K TV?
In a nutshell, 4K TV means more pixels. “How many”, you ask? About 8 million or about 4 times what your current 1080p set displays.
A Look Back
720p video is 1280 pixels wide and 720 pixels high. 1080p video is 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels high. 1080p is over twice as many pixels per inch over 720p. A 4K TV image is around 4,000 pixels wide. Now before you ask, yes, the industry named 1080 resolution after image height but named 4K TV after image width. Because of this you might hear this resolution referred to as 2160p. That is a lot of numbers, Are you confused?
A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
The increase in resolution presented by a 4K is tremendous, as characterized in this diagram:
The simple truth is more pixels equals more detail.
More detail means images will appear clearer and sharper. Sharper images means a richer viewing experience. The image below illustrates this point.
Will I see a difference?
Yes! As will your customers. There is a huge WOW factor here. In this case, bigger is better, brighter and sharper. More importantly, if your customers are going to your establishment to view sports or other programming, your 4K TV system will shine well above your competitors.
